Deutsch Vogue

September 2010, Deutsh Vogue

So I don't know German, but the cover of this magazine just sold it to me, it has to be my favorite Vogue cover, ever!!! (Up to now of course). I love the wink, the way the G circles her eye, the tattoos, the clothes and the gold & white combination. Also because it was a shopping issue (luckily fashion words come in English hahaha!), it had a lot of photos and great editorials, such as the one the two pictures above come from. However I do wish I knew German, I'm thinking about sitting with Google translate  (awesome tool!!) and "reading" the magazine...

Versatility and fabrics!
What stood out for me in this collection were the slouchy pants, I reeeally like the shape of the pants, as well as the fabrics/patterns used. I think there's a very effortless chic feeling to it. There were a lot of different fabrics and textures employed which give each individual piece versatility as well as originality. The separates in this collection really work well.

Ladylike and colorful!
I loved how Gucci's designer, Frida Giannini used colors for this winter collection, combining green/blue/turquoise and pink/red/purple all splashed with grey. It also has a retro feeling to it, with the wide-legged pants, the comeback of culottes and dark lipstick. Veryyy nice!

Patterns and prints!
I honestly knew very little of the Greek designer, but when I saw her designs in style.com I thought they were amazing. I've done my fare share of research and I have to say that she is very talented and I like the way she unites both fashion and art. The prints she used ranged from Koi fish to flowers, giving her pieces the feeling of watching wearable art as well as optical illusions. Wishlist: all of outfit #3 and the patterned booties.

 Just in! New kitten!
The cutest little thing in the world!!

70's style

7 for all mankind jeans, Promod shirt and Mom's (vintage) belt
I like the 70's theme that many designers showed in their Spring collections, so I made my humble attempt at it ^-^ jejeje with my bell-bottoms.
Also, recently Garance Doré  posted a picture of a shirt with this same or very similar design! We thought that was really cool and coincidental!

The Boots

Zara boots & dress
Getting my boots was a total "adventure"...I'd first seen them in one Zara store, but I wasn't too convinced that I would actually wear the boots, even though when I tried them on they were just soooo perfect.
My inner indecisive voice says, "Ok well, think about it, and then you can come back for them." Wrong thoughts, because we're talking Zara sales here, so when I decided to buy the boots, I went back to the store and yeah, they weren't there anymore! So I called all Zara stores seriously stalking the boots, the mean sales lady said that all boots had been removed, technically hinting that I should stop my search...and then... the miracle!!
A few days later I went to another Zara store, that I had previously visited in my quest for The Boots, but with no success. I went in again just to see, no expectations, and voilà the boots, in my size, waiting for moi!! They were the same ones I'd tried on in the previous store. Needless to say, the boots were definitely meant for me!!
On a side note, this dress has very pretty details, and it's actually a 2-in-1 piece!

       Fairytale beautiful!
If I had balls to go, royal festivities and/or the academy awards I would wear all of these dresses. Seeing that that's not going to happen, then I would be happy just trying on the silver & black dress!!! The different textures and colors make these dresses be totally dreamlike, and I think any girl would feel like a princess wearing them. Simply said...j'adore...

Luxury and details!
One of my favorite designers didn't fail to impress, with a great use of furs, feathers, patchwork. The use of color, different textures and incredible attention to detail probably make this one of the best collections during NY fashion week.
A+ for Mr. De la Renta!

Wearable and elegant!
My favorite look was definitely the one on the left, the shape and movement of the skirt is beautiful.
